During the eighty years that Benchmark Federal Credit Union has been a member of the Chester County Community, we have taken pride in serving the financial needs of our members, and our team members have played an integral role in supporting our neighbors with volunteer outreach efforts every year.
Many of our employees have worked with us for decades, so we’ve had the pleasure of serving families through generations. That is why now, more than ever, it is important to us that we provide an inclusive environment that assures that every individual always feels valued, respected, and welcomed at Benchmark.
A priority at Benchmark is to show our commitment to be a voice for change and take action to eliminate bias, racism, and inequality. That starts with taking responsibility for actions within our organization and it extends to every interaction with our members and the community. These are some of our practices and policies that will assure that we are a part of the solution:
- In addition to upholding the strict guidelines of The Equal Credit Opportunity Act, Benchmark Federal Credit Union follows a Zero Tolerance Policy regarding discrimination. Any deviation from this commitment is met with disciplinary action.
- To reinforce accountability, we provide formal diversity training each year for every employee. We pledge to enhance this process and have invited internal and external guidance to improve our efforts.
- We support the initiatives of an array of nonprofits throughout Chester County that serve a diverse population.
We understand more can be done, and we invite our employees, members, and neighbors to provide thoughtful feedback and suggestions regarding this and any matter that will help our community thrive.
